andyk_79 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Hi all I'm considering getting an exchange dash from these guys below. 25 mins drive from my place and $450 seems pretty good. Not sure if anyone else has used them for dashboards ? http://www.sportsclassic.com.au/Parts/?bid=103&mid=43&aid=7 I've looked at the DIY repair sticky and given my monster level of unco I don't think I'd be happy with the finish (and I am super scared I'd bugger it up and end up paying more!!). Anyone used either these guys or the trimmers over near Carlton that do dash repairs (Protrim)? Guessing the trimmers may charge me my first born (given the door card replacements from there are about $700 each) but interest if anyone has any insights. Quote
George Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Just for reference, Dash Doctor (Melbourne) charge $550 plus postage. Their finish is excellent. Quote
andyk_79 Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Thanks George - I saw that in other threads as well. It's an option but if the local guys that do exchanges are good that will save me some time (and dollars) Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted June 19, 2014 Administrators Posted June 19, 2014 Why don't you go down there and ask them to see a finished example of the Dash? http://www.sportsclassic.com.au/Images/?Image=P3121298.JPG]/img] Looks good in photos to me. Ask them about the process also, in most cases it seems they just heat shrink a vinyl wrap over the top of the existing dash (they obviously do some prep work underneath first but essentially it just seems like a re-skin) I might have to give them a call also for some panels and parts..They are about an hours drive from me though.
