5 Spd Gearbox to sit behind my L28

Hi all,

 

So my clutch is on it's way out and my second gear synchro is giving me issues, so while the box is off, I thought I might as well replace it.

 

Does anyone have a 5spd box laying around (Melbourne preferably) I can buy? It's to sit behind my L28 that's in my '73 240z.

 

Must be in good condition, no whining, crunching, or grinding, etc.

 

I have been looking for an RB20 box, but it's proving difficult to find surprisingly.

best bet is to get onto the drift sites on facebook for a rb20 gearbox, as for getting another L series one it does not take long at all until they whine again after a rebuild

Thanks mate. I've posted a 'want to buy' on that page a few days ago but I haven't had any luck.

 

I coincidentally got two PMs from SAU after I posted this thread up, so I will update this thread if a purchase is made.

Got a fully rebuilt 260Z gearbox here - all new bearings & syncro rings on 2nd & 3rd.

By time you buy a rb20 box, cond "unknown" get it pulled apart, re-bearinged and seals, parts, labour, cost of box, you're gonna be at around $1500

Get Lurch's, or pull yours out, get it rebuilt.

The innards are all the same rb's and sr's can also whine and pigroot.
