singhy Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Hi as the title mentions... Just curious about Value/uniqueness of these cars? -Parts availabilty -common rust spots etc -and anything else in General haha Ive been Scouring the Net for a while and havnt come across much... Ive been offered one to purchase one and im not sure if I want to go ahead with it. Any help would be appreciated. Quote
C.A.R. Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Not really valued more than a sedan - unless you are a B310 nut. Uniqueness - maybe. They are quite a bit rarer than the sedan though. It's all a matter of personal opinion... To answer your questions: -Parts availability: Very hard to come by now-days. Evan sedan parts are hard to source, but if you ask in the right online community you might luck out... -common rust spots etc: Everywhere! Guard bottoms, door bottoms, sills, rear arches, hatch. Thoroughly go over it to check for tinworm. -and anything else in General haha: Make sure it's complete & running with no parts damaged. Check someone hasn't pinched the Tacho Dash to fit into a sedan & that it still has the back seat - the 1600 guys love em. Oh, some came with factory Air-Con too... I have one here atm, so if you need any more info - fire away P.S. L4's are a direct bolt in with a Stanza X-member Hi as the title mentions... L4's are a direct bolt in with a Stanza X-member HI, thanks appreciate it... i personally havn't had a chance to look at it, but a friend of mine (who works at the wrecking yard it is at) told me that it got their a couple of weeks ago, the guy drove it on and off the truck, plus he said it looks to be neat and in reasonable NIC. I think I may have it as daily until I get my 260z on the road, and yes an L4 will definately be on the cards haha Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Unless you need a second car, save the money for your Z. Other wise you end up with 10 Datsuns, none of which are drivable. Quote
dat2kman Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Hey Singhy, if you aren't going to go ahead with this, flick me a pm with the details, where, who, ph number, how much etc. I got enough bits and pieces to put a L or SR series and a big five link diff into it. In meantime, it'd prob??, make an ok daily for my yougest kid. Quote

Ive got a second car already (300zx NA) and essentially driving and building cars is for fun while at uni (the 260z is my serious long term project, about another year left on it). The dilemma is that my little brother will be getting his licence soon, and he wants my 300zx . or 280zx if I can find him one soon. But then this Datsun Sunny came along and im deciding which car I want to keep haha as he said he will drive either Im only 21 but I always prefer cars pre-85 ish . as old always trumps new haha Quote
