DreamZproject Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Ok, i have a very unusual situation that I'm hoping someone may be able to help me with. There is some paint that i want from the US, but the only distributor for it wont send internationally. Luckily I am getting an order of Z parts sea freighted over very soon and I was told it would be possible for these items to be combined into one shipment. The problem is, i think that the distributor cancels any orders that they suspect are going to go internationally (probably due to pressure from the supplier, as the same product here costs over 3 time as much!) Does anyone know of someone in the US that would be happy from me to send them money and they make the purchase for me to get it sent to the shipping company's address? (Of course they would need to be reliable). Complex I know, but that's how ridiculous the pricing is over here! Quote
benny Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 My guess is on plastidip.... Shop around you can get it here for a reasonable cost If in fact I'm correct here is the aus alternative that looks pretty good http://www.evolvedcoatings.com.au/liquid-wrap/ Quote
DreamZproject Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Well done benny. Yeah its for my MR2 which has its clear coat bubbling off I know that there are alternatives here, but its still a decent amount cheaper in the US, and I'll already be paying for freight for my Z parts, so i thought why not! luvemfast Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I was looking into plastidip a while back. They won't ship internationally at all, even sea freight. Maybe look into buying the concentrated cans and thinning it yourself. Quote
DreamZproject Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Yup that was the idea. They sell them in 4L tins unthinned i think, I'll be getting 3 of them for under $200 where as here is would cost $600. It's a real shame that they can't get their shit together and open up a branch here.... they'd make a fortune (I thought about cashing in on it myself). Quote
zedevan Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 www.myus.com could potentially get around the issue, unless they are able to work out its still going to be shipped internationally. there are a couple of freight forwarders too such as http://www.priceusa.com.au/ who charge a small commision similar to that drift guy that will buy whatever you want from Japan...
