All 240z's sold in Australia before 1974 had an MPH speedo. We can provide plenty of reference pictures as proof if required for AU compliance. Only the 260z from 74 onward had the KM/H speedo. Quote

Australia didn't adopt the metric system for speed / etc till around the mid 70's (google should tell you exactly when), having a speedo in k's would have been useless when road signs were still in mph.
