Hello All,

I have used this site on and off for a number of years and was once a member of the Sydney Z Club for a while. I am in the north west corner of Sydney and have three Z's over the past 18 years. My latest car which I recently bought is a 240z after my 260z 2 seater was smashed up back in Septmeber. The 260z has been used for parts to rebuild the 240z to my liking. I drive the car as a second car at least once a week. Like the rest of you I have the Z bug.

Hey man, welcome, again?

Wow! I don't know what I'd do if my Z got smashed up!!!

Did you get an insurance payoff etc? These cars really are irreplaceable, I don't think I could go through

what I already have and am going to do to get my car on the road. So applause to you!

Thanks, I searched for a few hours each day until I found a Z that I was happy with.

My 260z was insured. I had rights to the wreck so had it towed home, then stripped out the car to a shell which took me about a month to do. The shell was recently sold to Stewart Wilkins. The mechanicals were all still good so these went into the 240z I recently bought.

I was really annoyed when it happened as I had owned the 260z for 15 years and had completely rebuild it during that time. So now tweaking my 240z.

Gidday and Welcome Ferris

Great to see another Sydney member and on the North side even better  :)

Shame about your 260 at least you had salvage rights.

Cheers

Welcome Ferris,

That sounds like hornsby or thereabouts, my old stomping ground. Do you have any apecs, photos of your 240z you can share with us? I have several mates over that way with wild 240's in their sheds, so perhaps we should arrange a drive soon.

Since I bought the car I have changed the engine to an L28 with fuel injection. The L28 engine is running a mild cam as well. I have changed the brakes back to stock to get the car registered in NSW and have changed the suspension to Tokico which I had in my other car. I kept the extractors and exhaust that was in the 240z. I have been driving it around a little bit as per a few reported sightings.

Next job is to re-trim the seats, replace the console and do a bit of tidying up of the interior. I will keep the interior as original as I can at this stage as it suits the car. There are a few paint blemishes on the car but nothing too much to worry about at this stage. The previous owner looked after the car well and he also gave me a pile of paperwork on the history back to 1982 which has been handy so far.
