dat2kman Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Aub, Explain to those who may be interested in this sort of thing, but just dont get the bearicratic red tape stuff about" need to join and buy a special event license" ?? It's a drive on public roads, from A-B-C etc, open to anyone on, lets say a forum, that this has been advertised on, why the "red tape"? Surely one can drive one's car to whatever, see and say hi, to others etc? Quote
be-zed Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 Long story short . It is a drive on public roads from A-B-C and is as about as simple as it gets . You don't need a navigator ,but it helps. But the ZCCQ is a CAMS club. This is so its members can obtain CAMS licences to enter other events organised by other clubs .Like all TARGA type events, sprints and event motorsport. In doing so we have to follow the rules CAMS set out for its events. This is a new one from CAMS. All who attend a CAMS Club organised and permitted event have to be a member of that club or member of an other CAMS club. This is why ZCCQ introduced a 1-5 day trial membership as we know not everone wants to be a full time member. So the red tape goes away for the cost of a gold coin. Quote
be-zed Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 This run which is set out by the ZCCQ is one of the best that the club puts together .The drive is good, spirited at times one could say but nothing over the top . Food is always good and there is a good chance that there will be someone there you will know or they will want to know you.You don't have to have a Datsun-Nissan to enter this run(they just didn't want any photos taken) and the ZCCQ will not be pressuring anyone to join there membership if they don't wish to. Come and enjoy you will have a good time. Quote
be-zed Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 It is now just a little over 2 weeks before the running of this event and it will be the first in a series of run up events for the Easter NDN2015 Nationals through out 2014. For more details of this event you can find them here. www.facebook.com/ndocarnationals Quote
be-zed Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 I will do my best to be there Peter .Will you be bringing the recon- L28? Geoff (New Vice President ZCCQ) is known for setting out exciting runs which may take a little longer to finish that stated in the notes. Quote
peter t Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Car is ready to go. See you all in the morning. Quote
grimlynsan Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Well that was fun wasn't it!? Here are some pics (sorry not so good - took them with the phone...) Lee Quote
peter t Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 What a great day. Still downloading my GoPro's so Aub's daughter can make a great vid for us. Found the bit where the Lotus was coming around the corner at me on the wrong side of the road {him} not me, so after Aub's daughter does her magic we should have a great vid. Quote
peter t Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Sorry if I did double but hey it will be OK. Vids to come via Aub. Quote
be-zed Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 Dam I was hoped I had dodged that camera of yours Peter. That was a great run to kick off the Roadz to the Nationals series of events . Geoff from the the ZCCQ has to be thanked for organising such a great run. Also for the guys from the 300ZX forum for their support.I must admit I have never seen so many snakes on the road . Peter failed to mention that a large number of S30 cars got lost just outside Bangalow . So as we do all the navigators huddled in the middle of the road to try and figure out where the hell we were. I thought this was worth a photo .You may not be able to see but there is a sign in the back ground stating 16klm to Bangalow . We all knew it was there , but did we go that way . NO! We all charge off down a goat track ,because that is what the instruction state or as best we could understand there meaning. Now we all have to tighten the bolts on our cars . My Driver's side mirror fell off on the way home. Still lunch was great and we had our fill and it was a good day. Quote
