silvaghost23 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Hi Guys, My name is Regan. I feel like I know you all as I have been a member since 2011 without placing any messages, yet I have religiously stalked the pages looking for that missing link after selling my last one of two previously owned zeds, albeit 14 years ago. Now I find myself adding my first due to a purchase I made in May of this year. I have taken possession of the car that was advertised on ebay and placed here by a third party, MickyG (I think), back in 2009. I was in April of this year, chatting with RevZed in regards to his Green 260z, but when that fell threw (I live in WA), a couple of days later a 73 model 240Z Supercharged and Injected popped up on Carpoint on a Sunday in May 2013, less than an hour from home. Unregistered and off the road since late 2009, it was at home 2 days later and I managed to get it engineered, over the pits and registered in a matter of weeks. The car is complete and in very good working order, but me being me, wants to make it better(as you do), add some go fast bits and bling. Some details: 240Z '73 L28 Fuel Injected Intercooled SC14 Supercharger 3psi boost on 103 Pulley with a new 77mm Pulley about to be installed should be about 7psi MSD 6 Electronic Ignition Battery in Spare Wheel Well w Isolation Switch Surge tank w Twin Bosch Fuel Pumps Koni Adjustable Lowered Suspension w Whiteline Sway Bars PBR Disk Brake Twin Piston Front and Single Piston Rear R200 Diff Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted September 11, 2013 Moderators Posted September 11, 2013 Hi Regan Congrats on getting it licenced. I can't recall seeing to many supercharged Z's on the road. Must be something special to drive, what are your plans for making it better ? Cheers PB Quote
RB26DETT Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I remember seeing this car at Z day back in 2003. The previous owner was an aircraft maintance that also had a 240k two door with RB engine? Well done with the purchase! Quote
silvaghost23 Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 Thanks guys. I am so very happy with my Zed. I only wanted an N/A L series but a blown version is something different. I have been trying to place more photos of it, but i cant work out how to due to the post limit of 1024kb. Anyhow. At present, I am trying to sell a Ducati Diavel to further enhance the Z, so if there is anyone out there looking for a fully enhanced carbonised version, let me know. Immacculate.. Very quick! Back to the Zed, my plans PB were to build it as a club car to play on track, and display it at some club events and drive days. There may be a Targa West attendance if not 2014, then maybe 2015, but just in the sprint stage on Riverside in Perth City. First focus is to get the engine and supercharger running right. The engine looks to be a fresh build, but I am not sure what is in it (Crank, Piston, Rods, Cams?) or who did the build. It has all the makings of a performance car with all that is in it right now, Surge Tank, Fuel Pumps, Pressure Gauges, but I am unsure on how far I can push it or who I can go and see in Perth for further works also to Dyno it and get it tuned. I am running a 159mm Pulley on the crank and a 103mm Clutched Pulley on the Charger with a 6000rpm limited MSD Ignition which was to get it over the Pits for noise and emissions due to the mods and allows 3psi boost. Its not pushing that much power right now and I have only revd it to about 5000rpm so far. It feels a little restricted with the 2.5' exhaust so I am toying with changing to 3' exhaust to allow the forced induction to work better. I have recently Lowered it to what you see in the pic, installed a Stereo System for which it did not have and purchased from Summit Racing, a 6.inch ATI Super Damper which should keep the balance intact at high rpm and a 77mm Pulley from Pulley Bros for the Charger which allows 7psi Boost but loses its Clutched on/off function. This I have, but I'm yet to install. The SC14 Supercharger has a maximum of 12psi output but I have spoken with the guys at The Rod Shop in Victoria and they have a number of SC14 Supercharged engines running 14-15psi with Methanol Injection to keep the blades running cool. I am not sure I want to go that high and will need to find out what my engine compression is before I go crazy. But you know what happens when you get the go fast bug... There is an array of Bling starting to arrive from The Z Store in the US, but till now, I have found I have had to contact him on 2 occasions to remind them of my order after 8-10 weeks waiting. I did a couple of small orders as a test but intend on about 2k worth of items, so the next orders will accompany a reminder email. Break it up too, to keep it under the Import Duty Aust has above $1000. My intent is to have it running reliably at 300+hp if not more, but will need to speak to the right people. I have been looking for Peter Mc's number but will probably need to message him. Does anyone know of a good Datsun Tuner in Perth? Quote
silvaghost23 Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 RB26DETT You wouldn't know how I may be able to get in contact with the guy from 2003? The guy I purchased it from doesn't have much info about it. Ohh, She's 40 years young this month. Quote
RB26DETT Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I've just sent you a PM with his phone number. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted September 12, 2013 Administrators Posted September 12, 2013 Thanks for sharing, shame you only just started to say hello now though . Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Looks like an honest example. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted September 12, 2013 Moderators Posted September 12, 2013 Welcome... Wouldve been good if you were in Melbourne! would love to see it in person. With the image size, open up the picture in Windows "Paint", go to "Image", then "stretch / skew" and in the stretch option where it says 100% I usually type in 40-50% then save or save as to rename and keep the original in case its a nice high res image. That gets the image size to a lower kb to be able to post. Hope that helps. Quote

As soon as I work it out I will have more photos on there but those two photos, are apparenly only 176kb each. Go figure. Quote
