Pre purchase inspection - Brisbane

Hi all, I have been looking around for a 260z 2+2 for a few months now. I came across one parked in a local mechanics today. It turns out it is his and he is interested in selling. He wants $16k, but thats ridiculous ('76, L28 with fuel injection, very straight, minor rust spots).

What i would like to know is if there are any trusted datsun familiar mechanics on the northside of bris who could do a pre-purchase inspection for me? Thanks

For 16K you'd hope he has some pics for if and when the body work was done to show all the rust repairs.. You don't want to find any nasty suprises! Bog isn't worth $16,000

Said mechanic no doubt googled " datsun Z car prices" and took note of just the 2 seaters.

Or, it is a pristine fully rebuilt with some substantiating documentation.

 

They are going up in value though, and there are less to go around, as the years go on!

A friend of mine is on the sunny coast and is thinking of selling his 260 2+2.Runs a L28.new shocks all round and is in immaculate condition.If interested  drop a message.

for around 16grand I could almost be tempted to let my white, immaculate and original, rust free '77 260 2+2 go to a good loving owner. Mail me if interested- I am on Brisbane Nth side as well....

Geez. I'd drive my bus down on a weekend to you to inspect (from Rocky), sell it for half that, and then you can spend the rest on paint. As long as it goes to a good home.

 

$16k is overboard for a 2+2 L28 with any rust spot.
