PeterAllen Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I've only pulled a few apart and they were all pretty well buggered so I'm just not sure how this all functions. Do the bushes (3) rotate around the sleeve (4) or is the only movement supposed to come from the distortion of the bushes?... Thanks Quote

Thanks The bushes rotate around the sleeve and need to be lubricated by the grease supplied, they don't flex/distort like rubber bushes. The bolt (5) is torqued 100ft lbs in the case of rubber bushes as the sleeve must not rotate. In the case of poly bushes there is little friction on the sleeve trying to rotate it so the high torque setting may not be neccesary but better be on the safe side and go for the recommended torque. Unless you want to race your car you will find the ride to be crap. I have just removed all 8 poly bushes I put in a couple of months ago and replaced them with Nissan rubber. Richard Quote

So the rubber bushes are molded to the sleeves and distort to allow movement? Quote
260DET Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 That's right and I think most keep the OE bushes for racing as well. I did anyway. Quote
Riceburner Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I tried delrin, had a heap of play so I went back to new oem. Good as gold! Quote
