Hi everyone, I finally bought myself a Z, a '76 260Z 2 seater, theres a pair of seats from a 2+2 on ebay close to me in sydney. Will these fit into my car? I'm thinking of retrimming them or use them as I retrim mine.

cheers, Mike

Hi Sulio,

thanks mate, will post some pics soon. I'm really rapt in the car.

Reverend, since I just bought it, would you please say a prayer and bless my Z for me, to keep me safe and for reliable motoring, against speeding fines, parking tickets and keep the car away from theives.  ;D

cheers,

Mike

Hey Sydney Mike, It is my delight to pray for those who love their Zed, and yes I am a 'real' reverend however I don't know that this small fact will discount the speeding fines!  however I pray for your joy and your tank to be full whilst crusin' in your Zed.

There are 2 types of seat rails for the 260Z 2 seater, early type and later type. I'm not sure about the 2+2, but something to keep in mind.

Thanks for the tip Drunkenmaster, well mine is a 12/76 and the seats for sale are said to be from a 77 2+2. The covering on my seats are actually pretty good, but just feels like the springs and padding is worn, and a little bit of free play. Maybe I'll just swap the seats around from left to right, will they just bolt in?

I sold my seats a long time ago and forget the details of them, but I imagine swapping the seats would be a problem with the recliner lever. I also beleive even if you bought seats with the wrong rails, you could just swap them onto your existing rails.

Lastly, buying other orginal seats will probably just lead you to the same problem of deteriorated padding. Might as well go to the root cause and have your seats repadded.

Not much fact in this post, just a whole lot of personal opinion  :P
