Srdatsun Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Hey everyone, i have 280zx struts . wondering if someone can answer a quick question. what bolt size/thread is used to bolt the caliper to the strut? also the bolts to that bolt the rotor to the hub. I dont have access to my car for about 2 weeks due to work , its at my brothers place. If someone can answer this which would be awesome so i can get it ready and save some time! thanks in advance Quote
Scoota G Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Could be the same as 240 260Z with 14mm bolts on the hubs and 17mm bolts holding the caliper on. Simon should know, i'm sure he'll answer your question. Quote
NZeder Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Well if we are talking fronts then looking up the part catalog I have shows it is 41250-E4100 as the part number and the washer that goes with it has M12 in the description. If I compare that to S30Z aka 240z/260z they use the same part number which I know are M12 P1.25 aka metric fine pitch M12 with a 17mm head. Hope that helps. So that is the caliper to strut answered so now the other part....checking.... The rotor to hub part number for the 280zx aka S130Z is 40209-22000 which is the same for the S30Z. Now the catalogs don't list a sizing for the washer this time but if my memory is correct they are a M10 metric fine (might be P1 if I recall) also with a 14mm head. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 18, 2013 Moderators Posted June 18, 2013 The bolts that hold the disc to the hub are not your standard everyday bolt; they have a larger diameter "shoulder" for a higher shear load. Best to get the right ones than something cheap and weak like a grade 4.6 bolt. Quote
