mossy Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Thinking of selling my spare 240z door shells to raise some cash for my tune just wanted to know what you guys think they would be worth? Both were stripped to bare metal and etch primed and still look to be rust free (the black door has 2 pinholes in the bottom corner), the surfaces need work to get them smooth as they are both wavy. G Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Interested in the driver's side. Not sure what they're worth though.. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 4, 2013 Moderators Posted June 4, 2013 I'd say about $20 each... I'll be over asap! Quote
Retro Z Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I offered $200 for the drivers door and i think thats a fair price considering its just the shell. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I offered $200 for the drivers door and i think thats a fair price considering its just the shell. In Aus when I was looking good doors(shells only) were VERY to find, the few pairs I located started in the $600 range and went up. All needed work including rust repairs. That was 2-3yrs ago. Mossy yours look better than any I found, I'd start at $800. You can always come down if you're in a hurry to sell. Good parts are getting very hard to find! Quote
mossy Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 No worries guys thanks for the input, I do remember I sold a set of complete doors on ebay a while ago but they weren't stripped to bare metal so wasn't sure what was underneath, I think I got good money for them though. I do actually have the windows and frames to go with them, possibly some of the internals too. Maybe I'll try them on ebay this week to see if I can get some good money for them, if anyone in Melbourne is interested and wants to have a look send me a PM. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Your kidding me right? Obviously you didn't look hard enough. Ive seen several in the last year for under $300. Even Mossy himself was selling some a year back for much less than what your quoting. I just bought a passenger door last week for $150 delivered and complete no rust from a zed wrecker in WA. A member last month was selling 2x door shells with fibreglass skins for $300 and was taking offers Anyway don't mean to detract from your sale Mossy. I say throw it on Ebay and let the market tell you how much its worth. Good luck. No kidding here, maybe your low ballling. Obviously your idea of what is 'good' and what's not differs from mine. Just to be clear Mossy is talking about doors that have been stripped to bare metal and etch primed. No hidden surprises here, No dodgey glass skins on metal frames, what you see is what you get. A 40yr old datsun door with no rust. Lol. Opinions were asked for and mine was given, make of it what you will. If all else fails Mossy I'd keep them, they're only getting harder to find. Quote
mossy Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 I'll give them a crack on ebay Gareth at a higher price and see how they go, I actually prefer to keep them as a spare set of doors but as I'm not working at the moment and I'm so close to finishing the z I might have to let them go or I might have another look in the garage to see if there's anything else I can sell Quote
Scoota G Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Two things (ebay related) 1. Mossy needs to change his ebay id or let me have it (no V8 Zed for you) 2. Stivva needs to update his location details. I always though that doors were $500 a pop, price will depend on condition. With Mossy you know you are getting honest parts and after all he is going to put it towards his Zed! Try finding them elsewhere. Quote
mossy Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Ha Ha, true mate, that used id isn't really relevant anymore is it, speaking of v8 zeds Scoota I still have a very nice unused set of custom V8ZED number plates Quote
Scoota G Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Tempting but what if it goes on club rego next year? Plus i would be giving it all away and miss out on 70% of the traffic light races, that extra torque sure does go a long way. Quote
mossy Posted June 11, 2013 Author Posted June 11, 2013 I think club rego is the way to go mate, 90 day logbook for what just over $100 dollars....bargain Quote
