So what events are you blokes participating in? I can't remember what the QR email said and there is bugger all info on the QR website. Anyway, good to see you having a go on the best circuit in Q ;)

The event is being organised by the MacLean's Bridge Group and there are three teams from the Z Car Club competing in this event. http://www.macleansbridge.com/index.php/pacemaster

This is on the Saturday and there is practice first then each competitor should get 3 sessions of 8 Laps, there will be 24 teams each of 4 cars at the event.

Cheers

Peter

In years gone by, the event organisers, Triumph Sports Owners Assoc, have been in the ball re parking the various marques/models, in their groups, hopefully this will be the case at Lakeside. Maybe some kind person who is involved, and in the Z club of Qld, can find out beforehand and pist up a map/drawing/location etc

The guys doing the regularity track thing ( not racing!!) will all be on the inside of the track in the carports, to get to the inside, during the day, just drive right around the rear of circuit, and under the overhead big whit "bridge" is a tunnell, you should be able to drive through, and find plenty of space.

The Sunday will be a bit different, the TSOA are expecting up to 1400 enthusiast cars, plus more soectator cars.

Only bugbear, it will cost an entry fee, far more than in past years when it was held at McKeans bridge, which is well south of Brisbane.

Where is the official blurb from the Z club on this, it is the biggest car display in Sth East Qld!

Yeah, most of us won't be making the Sunday. A big day on Saturday is good enough.

Every club has been allocated a section of pits all together so no big worry's there. Also a few of us are share driving so there will be some spare bays to set up some seats and chill out.

Its on there site but no mention here, thats why I started this thread to generate some interest among non QZCC members. After all we all love Z's. ;D

As I understand it the ZCCQ is not attending officially as a club on the Sunday display . But only Dave (president) would be able to confirm that . There was only one paid up entry for this event at the last meeting and the club needed to book space, so it was a no go . I am not sure if you can turn up on the day and display your car as a group of Z's if non club members attend.

That should make things interesting if one of the Z teams win or places in the regularity . There will not be anyone there on the Sunday to collect the trophies

It was a fun day, had some problems but nothing we didn't really expect being the car's first time out.

The major one was losing fuel out of hungry, got to the point where I just had nothing lol

It was good seeing a few of you up there, put some pics up if you got them :)

Yeah three teams of four.

As per usual though QR screwed up big time and forced Dusty and Cameron to pull out so my race partner and I could run.

Individually a few people did well but as a team most of us either pulled out early or were forced to try and sustain times with 23 other cars on the track.

In the end it was nice to get the car out on the track but I wouldn't do another reg organised by QR.

Yes it was to be a team event but as JK stated QR really stuffed up regards allocation of car numbers so it resulted in Dusty and Cam having to put out and this really stuffed up any hope we had as teams. But it was a good learning experience for me regards Regularity. I nominated a time that I believed that my car could do and it could but I constantly got stuck behind a Mustang that had set a much lower time and he blocked on the corners and just overpowered me on the straights. This happened in two of the sessions and at the last I just lost concentration and my times suffered, just about hit a fat arsed Porsche up the arse when he passed me at the Bus stop then he braked hard going under the bridge which I wasn't expecting, had to brake hard and swing to the left.

But overall it was a great day and I must express a special "thank you" to that Escort in the picture above, he blew his engine going under the bridge and dropped oil all the way to Hungry, this was on about lap six so our group had a restart and they gave us another 8 laps. So we really had 4 sessions and not 3 like the other 2 groups.

The thing I learnt about Regularity was to set a time below what the car is capable of, plus with mine because of the lack of torque and overtaking grunt I have to add more time for the times I get behind a car that makes it difficult for me to overtake.

Regards team results if I remember correctly all our teams came in around 16th or so, at least we weren't last.

Thanks to everyone who came along and offered their support.

I had a great day and at the finish of the last session I was totally exhausted.

Cheers

Peter

Went out for a look and was glad I did, excellent day. The problem with Dusty et al was car sharing wasn't it? Car sharing has been done there before so maybe it's something to do with the new timing system. Anyway it's a pity it that it spoilt the day for some because you buggers had a fine day, something I have been chasing all year so far  :)

If anyone is interested in a Lakeside sprint day I'm planning on both the 16th and 21st of June. There are usually one or two other Zeds there but more is always a good thing.
