late 240z Vin numbers

Anyone no of the vin numbers of the last 240z's to come into aus? Mine is November 73, vin 103771

The 73 240z in fro sale section claims to be one of the last delivered with a vin of 103437...... So what does that make mine  Is there a register or some way of finding out what number they stopped at?

The WA Zcar register had a register with VIN #'s etc.. Ask Mr Camouflage, I'm sure a few SQL queries and he can tell you

I think mine was 105000 or something, a 73' model. I went onto the WA register to find out exactly what you're asking, it was a big help.

Thats around the highest for 240's on the WA Z Register. So where are all the others.....

Gone to god  I would expect.

Although  there appears to be a discrepancy in the serial number series ( I've never seen consecutive numbers in the later years) which makes me think that the consecutive numbering and export market may not have been the same in the '73 series.

agree...in the later part of 73 the vin numbers where not that consistent...

what month is your 103771 ?

I dont think Ive ever heard of a 12/73 plated 240....be interesting if some exist and what their numbers are.

May 73, if the rego is to be believed. The vehicle is stripped down to the chassis at the moment, it's out of my garage and in the hands of my magician ( I call him that as I was nearly ready to crush it until he claimed that it could be  restored just like magic, I suspect that the only magic that will be happening is the lightening of cash in my wallet and the stealth that will follow for the next 2 years of the resto), hence I'm unable to check it immediately against the factory plate.

From memory, the model year changed mid year, which would have made it one of the last ones imported, however, that theory was just shot to pieces with your Nov/73.

I think i remember reading somewhere that they stopped production in september for 240's, could be wrong though...

 

Good to see another in surgery and soon on the road to recovery    if only my health insurance covered the z's reconstructive surgery! Hehe

My car is Hs30103694, compliance plate shows 9/73. Receipt for original purchase from Lennock motors in Canberra dated 12 October 73.

GongZ, Mine had been in storage before I bought it almost 10yrs ago. Our build no's are very close and mine WAS also an auto!

 

Maybe there's a theme here was yours an auto also Peter? Unfortunately my cars PO didn't have the original purchase receipts.
