Hi all,

I have recently picked-up a 1974 260z 2-seater from my mate which is an un-finished restoration job. Most of the car is good however I'm searching for a few of the final parts.

There are a lot of 2+2 versions being parted-out at the moment and I'm keen to know whether the bumper bars can be interchanged with a 2-seater. If anyone can shine some light on this that'd be great.

Cheers

Rears are quite a bit different; Mounting points on the rear corners are different and as RBZ said, wider as well. Fronts are identical.

The 2+2 is wider across the back so the back bumper is different; whether it can easily be trimmed up to suit a 2-seat body & whether the various holes still match up I can't say.

Basically the 2-seat & 2+2 are the same back to the windscreen & dash; then the roofline & body differs all the way to the back.

If you have an early 260Z 2-seat (ie. late '73 / early '74) then you will probably find (as I have) that it has more in common with the last of the 240Zs in suspension, electrical & engine equipment, rather than later 260Z's which had running revisions & got progressively better appointed & most especially in the 2+2 models. If you're looking for parts from a donor 2+2 then best go for the equivalent year if possible.
