Sorry no pics available yet, but I imagine they're similar to the American ones on my car (see members projects)

Out of pure curiosity are these wet or dry carbon fibre?

They appear to be vacuum-bagged

'Wet' carbon is just hand-laid into the mould like most fibreglass parts and the resin added with a brush and roller. This usually means the woven carbon cloth is not perfectly flat and even in the mould and you can have some air bubbles and excess resin.
Vacuum-bagging is a technique used to press the cloth flat and squeeze out the bubbles in the resin so you get a very smooth and even finish (plus a lighter final piece). As there is minimal resin the top surface also appears clearer (not cloudy), making the carbon look better too.
There are more steps to the process but this is the basic difference.

"Wet carbon is layed up like fiberglass where dry cloth is layed on the surface and resin is then applied. It can also include vacuum bagging and autoclaving which improves strength. It could also be where the resin is drawn in from one end to the other by the vacuum in the vacuum bagging step. This is almost as good as pre-preg, and will be lighter and stronger than normal layup and resin application..

Dry carbon is prepreg, it's carbon cloth with presicely controlled amounts of resin applied already. You just lay it up, vacuum bag it and autoclave it. It's lighter and will be as strong as possible thanks to the exact right mix ratio of carbon and resin."

My mistake it's wet thanks.
