  1. was taken second lap, its not the easiest ripple strip to drag the car back onto after turn 4
  2. here's a good one
  3. ive been fanging the simulator at work and managed a 2:37, hows everyone setting this thing up? the lift off oversteer is atrocious. i feel like games these days make old cars handle like pigs on purpose. it doesn't handle like a group S Zed thats for sure. jacked up the front spring pressure and rear shock rebound to try and settle it down, max caster, max neg camber and max toe out. 3.9 diff and thats about it.
  4. i had an S and own an X now. the X isnt really all that necessary, but its a nice to have. if you have the spare cash, go for it. i can hardly tell the difference to be honest.
  5. just had a quick go, with a couple of adjustments got a 2:37, though the handling is diabolical. it power off oversteers everywhere, which at least on a group S Z, they dont do. will spend some time trying to wind that out of it and see how it goes.
  6. yep, its a rental simulator in my office using windows 10. will give it a crack
  7. ive got this at the moment with a nice steering wheel and pedal setup. what are we shooting for 240ZG lap record?
  8. That was me. We finished the race yesterday but broke the car. Oil leak. Too hard to fix this weekend
  9. hit a 1.48:9 in practice today. will see what she can do over the weekend
  10. Mike there's a very quick 280Z two seater running this weekend at eastern creek if you want to get more info a 2+2 would never really get to the front end of group S though if your just in it for fun it would be OK
  11. enduro race with driver change. it broke a lash cap around about lap 10 which you can hear, and spent the rest of the race on 5 cylinders. cracking start though!
  12. race one Saturday, only went for a lap then safety car
  13. we ran again last weekend at the Tasman challenge at Sydney motorsport park. had a strong weekend despite a few mechanical glitches. busted exhaust, leaking calliper piston seal and a broken lash cap ( which you can hear in the vid ill post up )
  14. No dice, plain standards only. There was a pink S30 at the meet that got logged with drilled rotors
  15. this first race in the wet was fun
  16. yep, though we had a balance problem with the pedal connection to the cylinders so if the front cylinder gave way the rear would not hold the pedal up, we couldn't get decent pressure to the rears. still a mystery to be solved over the next week. yeah only on T1 and once on T2 ( which I think was a coincidence ), after going all the way down the straight and only happened 3 or 4 times all weekend. so its not a cooling problem of the caliper/rotor, if it was you'd think it would happen over the back somewhere.. rock solid on T17 and every other corner all weekend. I suspect the front master cylinder must be sucking air in around the reservoir, we found a small leak there. if it is its hard to bleed out, you have to bleed the whole line. that's one of the things that will be fixed for the next race.
  17. yeah i noticed too. will be fixed up for the next meeting.
  18. from what i gathered over the weekend we will never get better brakes. i think we will have to put up with pounding through pads, discs and fluid every meet. its so odd that it goes to the floor and only needs one pump of the brakes to come back. the first time it happened i overran turn 1 and only just kept it on the black stuff. lets see how a total seal overhaul goes.
  19. race 4, bit of a lonely race once the top 3 cleared out
  20. first race on sunday in the dry after finishing 6th in the wet on saturday.
  21. one more
  22. First pump hit the deck, then a second pump gave full pedal. Was an intermittent problem. Ita running again at eastern Creek in two weeks time at the tasman. Going right over it with new seals throughout before then.
  23. pretty sure this was in practice photo courtesy of Daniel Walters from facebook
  24. finished outright 4th, top 3 porkers too much grunt, too much grip, way bigger brakes. we had 4 Z's running which is a great turnout. Wayne Potts got caught up Porsche dicing otherwise we would have had a fun battle. the car has a master cylinder problem which meant the brakes occasionally dropped to the floor, happened to me twice going into turn one which is scary to say the least. ill post vids and photos later
  25. Weather gods smiled on us. She hooked up well on a drying greasy track, I'll drop a few places in the dry today
