Hi, Ive been a member of this website for about 6 months now and have sourced some parts from a few of you. Im Michael from the ACT. I have a yellow 7/71 240z which ive owned for almost ten years now. Zs have always been a favourite of mine, and id own 1+ even if i won lotto the other night. Anyway last July I started to get into the z after the common l28 swap lasted for 6 or so years going well, but i wanted something faster, newer and safer so decide to buy a stack of parts from the states while the strong dollar was favourable. i sourced parts from McKinnet Motorsports for the RB25DET swap incl cooler, mounts, cables, 4 core radiator, driveshaft, fan/shroud and used Arizona ZCar for the coilover kit and willwood 4 pot all round on 12.2" incl discs. Have got everything in after a bit of work, done the R200 rear, 3" exhaust, surge/fuel sys, painted engine bay, rust protected/painted undercar. The cars totally different obviously from before but its so much fun, and feels solid now. New bushes allround makes it super tight and with about 250rwhp (stock) in a now 1120kg car it rips along with a stack of untapped potential Ill post some pics of interior, bay, under etc in an appropriate thread... Im in the ACT mate, but can assit with postage if needs be. The belts are a lap sash (not retractable) non stock part. They look period and work fine though. I would assume theyd bolt right up to a 2 door 260z but may have to confirm on here??? Cheers Michael

can you guys reccommend any carpet kits ready to buy? i used to have the 20 odd piece set which were made up of large and small bits but i thought its a little messy. anything more complete or one or two pieces would be preferable.... thanks fellas

you reckon heaps more than a 1000? i have new sparcos, dash, door skins and interior panels almost brand new. Its just headlining, carpet, and tunnel.... thanks for reccomendations, i budgeted 2000, but was hoping to go cheaper, saying that... it never works to budget. in my experience its normally 2x

Hi guys, has anyone had any luck finding a solid interior specialist? I have sound deadedned underside, inside and dynamatted everything... need to get some carpet laid, tunnel trim (was thinking a carbon fibre syle tunned trim), rear section i want to carpet including toolboxes and a circle board for the spare so it all looks neat and fits snug. Headliner also needs doing... also what sort of prices do u reckon? 1000 ish? Michael

So after driving the other day i noticed some anti freeze on my dynamat in the cabin, just on the foot floor near peddles coming from behind the fuse box.. i looked under where it was dripping from and it seems theres some sort of heater tap inside the firewall which i guess controls hot and cold air??? not the core on passangers side, but the smaller metal one behind the fuse box... anyway i bypassed it until i can sourse a working one.... if anyone has one to suit a 71 240z would be great...... thanks michael

Just wondering what you guys reckon of replacing the diamond vinyl covering the tunnel to a carbon fibre look? either get the cabon fibre vinyl wrap, or ? thoughts ideas?

Why would you need 600-800hp in a z? theyre a tonne... crazy, undrivable

Hey fellas, just after a spare wheel to suit the standard z 4 stud pattern to go in the wheel well..... emergencies only so doesnt have to be too flash....

Am looking for a clean, dent free fuel tank to complete my restoration. The current one is a little battered and bruised. Or any info on fabricating a custom one with a drop tank look?? Regards

Does anyone know where to source a universal speedo sensor (magnet type)?? i cant use the screw in type as there isnt any room between the box output and the tranny mount? am using autometer phantom electronic speedo and tacho....

I can tell u the arizona z car brakes are Crazy. So powerful underfoot and re assuring. I got the 4 pots all round on 12.2" discs with his coilovers and they are worth every cent. Especially with the strong $AUD. I have a Tdi golf 09 as a daily, and those brakes feel dodgey after driving the z now.

I used wozas kit which included his drawing on CAD and cable specs with layout. I am happy to give them out providing Woz approves. They are top shelf in quality and design. If you need i might still have his ph # still

Just finishing off my hybrid rb25det conversion and am looking to fit some autometer phantom guages (speedo/tacho) has anyone done this before and is it a basic swap? motor is running standard computer and i was hoping on placing the pulse sensor on the cat instead of the z mechanical cable type? any info would be great.

I have an 71 240z, done the r200 upgrade, and have discovered the moustache bar i got with the diff has a massive crack in it! Its the reverse curved one to the stock r180 setup. Im in the ACT I can organise freight for pickup tommorrow at work or home. 0401 951 462 - Michael Regards

deatset? mine will need a soda blast and minor body work but that sort of cash is more what i was hoping for... especially if there are a few of us to make it worth his while... and yeah ive had the car awhile so that sort of timeframe would be ok... when you have a chat to him, mention it and see what he says. But if he'd do all 3 for 15k approx, it appeals to both parties. 15k cash for a few months afterhours works appealing to anyone! do you know if you have any bog spots underneath?
