Hey guys, I was just wondering if there was a difference in the starter motors of 240z's and 280zx's. I currently have a 280zx box with a l26 engine and 240z flywheel and starter motor. There seems to be a clashing noise and I think it's the flywheel and starter motor are clashing. Any help of ideas as to why this is the case? Thanks guys

Cheers guys for all the info! I defiantly think it is the bearing collar, as it was from an early 240z box The question now is, can I extend the pin on the slave cylinder? if so how? Or where can i get a 280zx collar?? Cheers guys again, and the oil i used was general transmission oil from autobarn

Hey guys, Thanks for the responses. I have bled the clutch a number of times, I can change the gears when the car is off. The pedal feels a lot more resistant now that I have bled the clutch. The clutch fork was greased, and the pin moves, however im not sure if it moves far enough to be able to change the gears. Anymore info you guys need?

Hey guys, I have put a 280zx gearbox onto an L26, I filled everything up (Clutch, engine, gearbox etc) However when I try to change gears, the gears wont change. I am not sure why this is the case. The only thing I can think of is the fact that I used the clutch bearing holder (mounts onto the fork) from a 240z gearbox. Am I missing anything?? Is this the case?? Help please?

Hey guys, Just needed some help with my flywheel and clutch install. I have a flywheel, that I got off a member, and a clutch pressure plate from the US. They don't seem to be lining up. As such I was wondering if anyone had the dimension from one dowl to another of the flywheel? This way I can make sure the flywheel is right and I need a new clutch. The clutch was said to be for a 240z. Help would me much appreciated.

hey guys, I am currently in the process of converting my auto into a manual, and have a few questions. 1. Is anyone able to let me know the size of the flywheel bolts? 2. I understand that the transmission bolts are different size to the Auto, is anyone able to tell me the size of the bolts? 3. Is anyone able to also tell me the size of the slave cylinder bolts? Furthermore I was wondering if there are any other bolts that I may need if I was to convert from the gearbox side only?? Help would be appreciated guys Cheers

Hey guys, I was just after some bits for a manual conversion. Need then following: Manual brake pedal bolts plus return spring for a manual pedal spigot bush metal clutch pipping if anyone can help me out here it would be appreciated. cheers guys vivek
