Here are a few pictures of my R31 conversion by modifying the rear struts/hub to suit the complete bracket. I ground the bottom corner and took a bit off each other corner witch allows you to pivot the bracket between 2-5 o'clock . The best angle for the hand brake cable I found is about 3 o'clock. as they say (a picture says a thousand words). I hope this helps in future mods.

New LSD from vy commodore in a 260Z
red76z replied to red76z's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
The cv joint is from the Holden Commodore and they seam to take the punishment dished out form the LS1 and they bolt directly to the diff. They are then grafted to the original Z half shaft which are then bolted to the original Z hub. They should do the trick. Time will tell. The weakest link is the original Z axle spline. -
The LS1 transplant is well under way with the Diff from the Holden commodore SS V8 Strapped To the original 260z Rear sub frame assembly. The engineer did an outstanding job to put the diff in the same place as the Zed diff and all Bolt in. No need to bolt front of diff to the car tunnel. It has its own frame work. Did not even have to cut wheel well, as he did a mod on the rear cover of the SS Diff to mount to the Z mustash Bar. I have included a few pics Hope You like them. The main reason I went this way was to keep the LS1 with the T56 gearbox 6 speed all talking the same thing with out changing ratios of original diff plus I know that this diff will take the power of the V8 all day long.

Grafting Hylux calipers and SS diff into 260z
red76z replied to red76z's topic in Brakes / Drivetrain Components
I have just finished the front brake conversion with the Hulix calipers and the 300zx front rotors. I had a engineer spin up a couple of spacers to offset the discs from the hub. Awesome job. He did not touch the hub but instead machined the spacers and took a few mm off the center of the 300zx rotors, put a step on them to locate the disc and that is it. They are about 9.8mm thick and made from steel as we thought the step design in alloy would not be strong enough. -
I have just left the original struts and springs in the front of mine With the old P76 V8 for years. Now Putting the LS1 into it and keeping the same set up. They work well . P.S the all alloy V8 weighs about the same of a little lighter than the original six.
