Thanks for all the great advice everyone (and the really comprehensive instructions fluegel), yep I think I'll get busy and give it a try- see if I can glue my eyelashes together putting the glue on! LOL I am going with white headlining- should I continue the white down the pillars or make the pillars black? I have a black dash going in, am unsure which would look best. Was a bit worried having white on the pillars might be a bit distracting while driving (but really, I drive past those construction workers without any issues.... ) I am also having trouble with the plastics- mine are a bit broken up and I was looking to see if I could just go all out and buy new ones, but I can't seem to source any, the overseas ones are for 74 models and before. Any suggestions? I have also heard tell of people having plastics vinyl wrapped- has anyone had any success with this? Thanks

Hi everyone, had the upholsterer up today and have a problem! My car has no roof lining in it at the moment and so he is unsure of how the roof lining goes in... does anyone have pictures of their roof lining that they could post and I could show him at all? Or instructions if you are clever enough to have done it yourself? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks heaps!

You should definitely think about it Retro Z, it makes them look sooooo sexy. Have some new side repeaters ready to install, thanks for the link Stivva. Yeah it has a layer of dust on it in the photos, and they aren't that great a quality, but yep she's gloss and no, not metallic- I'd spend forever trying to make it look clean! (what am I saying, I'll have to be doing that anyway!) Luvemfast, call me cheeky, but isn't the idea that on the track you aren't anywhere near the other black cars trailing behind you? LOL

Hi again everybody! After a long gruelling ordeal with finding, chasing and eliminating rust, I am stoked to say, we now have paint! A new addition also is the front air dam (thanks to Warren at All Z Parts). AND *finally* got my restored dash back today! Next up comes dash going back in, windscreens going back in, then we're off to the mechanic for a full health check and I'll be ferrying parts to and from the upholsterer in the mean time... we're on the way I am considering having my grille chromed- thoughts? Also I am a little concerned about the back badges for the boot lid- I have seen some with Datsun (on the angle) and 260z underneath, and some with Datsun (on the angle) and 2+2 underneath. Being that this is a 2+2 does that mean I should have the latter on her?

Hi Matto, Looks like the targa has been spoken for now - and we only had the one LHS targa. Unfortunately we have no more red interior bits at all I'm sorry. Thanks for your enquiry and good luck.

Hi Brianz, the card on the LHS one is not too bad, it has one small tear in the bottom, but the other one needs fixing, it has been broken off at the corner and has several other tears. Thanks

I got a state roads inspection done on it and posted the photos from them, I have the whole report -if you want to give me your email I can send it to you if you want more info... that's not all it's problems... : )

While we're on the "was there ever such a thing" topic - does anyone know if the 260z bonnets came out from factory with vents? Or are they an aftermarket creation? Can't remember ever seeing one with them when they first came out.... Ta : )

Yes, you're right on the money! I also have my suspicions that it was also used to cover up some rust when it was put on (this is a case of a young kid putting the least amount of money and the most amount of dodgey he could into it to make it look okay) . Poor thing certainly hasn't been loved.... but I can fix that!
