  1. Ha ha that would be a sight if ever I've seen one ! I would like to end up with a 260z when I'm finished, not a VW!
  2. What would be the chances! : ) lol Sounds very interesting, you wouldn't happen to fit panels as well would you?
  3. Hey- don't laugh! It could be an option! LOL I don't know if I should sand it back to bare metal, or have it sandblasted. Here's some photos of the bigger stuff
  4. Thanks Stevo_gj Scoota G The repairs include: replace back panel where lights are (I have another panel) Plate floor (back RH seat has two rust holes) Extensive bubbles around rh back window. There are alot of places (lh back quarter, front & back windscreen + bonnet)with small amounts of bubbles (less than 50c size) don't know what would be underneath though. Let me know what you reckon- unfortunately it's unreg atm and can't drive it down to our local panel shops to see if they will attempt it
  5. Hi! Can anyone recommend any good rust repair people (prefer mobile, but if not will make do) for my 260z 2+2? Thanks heaps
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-240z-1971-260z-nissan-classic-car-sports-project-/290436567584?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Cars&hash=item439f5e5220 This one just on, 71 manual 240z on ebay. 'totally complete but totally disassembled' bidding starts at $4500, from Ingleburn NSW.
  7. Wow, thanks for all your advice guys, I'll get my local mechanic to have a look and see if it has the hardened valve seats- will let you know! : )
  8. Yeah, I think it did. It was a pressie for his wife's birthday- very sweet. Thanks again for all your advice and help with selling it, your input is greatly appreciated. The black 260z 2+2 is my daughters, we've just stripped it out and she is looking for a good mobile rust repairman at the moment. Unfortunately I also have to sell my toyota supra before a zed is possible for me, as people expect you to pay bills! Which I think is very inconsiderate of them.
  9. Mwahaha! My work here is done! Hmmm ULP friendly... so would you say that it would be okay to run it on unleaded all the time? Thanks again guys
  10. Sorry lurch, I'm a dill, just sold the 280 so had l28 on the brain (what's left of it).. I meant l26.
  11. Hi guys, couldn't find any other posts asking this (sorry if there is) but can you convert a 75 260z L26 to run on unleaded? If so, how and does anyone know what kind of price bracket that would be in? Thanks so much!
  12. Sorry stevo_gj, have removed. : ) Thanks for your help!
  13. Whoopsie thanks hammer This is the guff I got from the bloke who owns it; He is an electrician and he re-wired the whole car, the ignition is down on that metal strip next to the handbrake with some other switches and dials he put there. He turned the original ignition barrel into an audible indicator alarm. It needs a new windscreen, has no rust 'considering' it is a 35 yr old car? Don't know what he meant by that He put the L24 motor in it 2 years ago (not engineered for rego) The L26 was smokey so he took it out to check the rings, found nothing, and so he is assuming it is the valve stems It has a good manual sunroof, it has no badges at all, no idea when it was last registered, cracked dash, good suspension, good motor, good gearbox, doesn't know how many ks it's done The sub floor damage he is talking about is damage to the chassis rails (he thinks this may be from rallying) that the mehchanics wont pass for rwc Will not negotiate under $4k. Worthwhile do you think?

  15. Hi Lynton, A person can't hide anywhere. Yep she is a grand old lady, like the owner/driver my Mother, whose faith in her ability to know a quality car, you have just restored. Thanks for that, and I have left the add as it was. Nice of you to comment , particularly after actually seeing the car, if only on the road. Thanks for the encouragement
  16. Hi, don't know if this is where I put these? Sorry if it's not. These are on ebay, the link is: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140395508471&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT Thanks heaps
  17. Thanks for your encouraging comments Lynton and galderdi. Have had four 260zs over my many years, and now my daughter is up and coming and wants both of us to go back to what she calls 'my era'. This means the 280zx needs to be sold before I can do that. The description is very accurate, have had a few people out that didn't believe us and went away with foot-in-mouth! : ) We have it advertised with uniquecars, carsales, carsguide, trading post and ebay. Not that we went all out or anything like that. Hopefully someone will be after a pretty schmick toy soon. Zanzee
  18. Any interest guys?
  19. :oWhoops! Thanks Mr240z, appreciate it!
  20. Thanks stevo_gj
  21. For $8500 this car is as it was when it was driven out of the dealership.
