Yeah - I know Lurch. The guy doing it for me is not the most experienced - but I have "zero" experience - so have been following his direction. He thought it would be easier to get a cut from another car, but having seen the other post with pic's - seems like it should be easier than I thought. Will show him the post from scoota and see if he changes his opinion. Maygz - reckon I may still take you up on your kind offer. I am sorted for this now. Managed to find a place to put my car on blocks for a couple of weeks. Suspension is out - just got to figure out how to pull the rest of the suspension apart so I can send Ben what he needs.

Thanks for that - will be helpful. Seems like another peice was still used from a donor car though yeah? Both inside and outside rail need work on mine. Would like to get away with fabricating as little as possible. If not other option presents itself - will give it a crack. Cheers.

Sorry - but I do agree somewhat with what the guys are saying. Some of the higher priced Zeds on carsales have been there a looooooooooooong time. I just watch them drop in price every month. Only one bucking the trend is a blue 240z that went from $85K to $95K. I don't know why he bothers to list it at all. The other one's listed that I do not quite "get" either are Edward Lees Zeds. Pretty sure the stock Orange and ZG Red Zed he lists are advertised at ridiculous prices so he does NOT have to sell them! At a guess - would say they are his personal cars, but he lists them at stupid prices through his business for some sort of tax benefit. Something dodgy there for sure! Anyway - people are entitled to advertise Zeds for whatever they want - obviously the owners selling believe they are worth every cent, but clearance rates would indicated market does not. Personally - I do not think Zeds are "quite there yet" either. One day though! Wish the seller all the best though...Work rims look awesome!

Hi guys, It appears I have a more pressing need for the following cut. My mate indicates this is beyond his skills to replicate. I have attached image of rust area I need to replace. I know this is a bit of a problem area in many Zeds. Can anyone assist with a suitable clean cut or suggest an alternative? Thanks

Hi Guys, I am still looking for the relevant suspension bits to send in to Ben for the full coilover/damper conversion. Rears - need Rear struts lower and strut tops. Front - need Front strut tops only. rb30x has kind enough to offer me a couple of options, would prefer to wait and see if something local pops up though. Assistance appreciated. Cheers.

Hi Guys, My mate is helping me with some of the rust in my Z. Looks like I need part of a chassis to replace a rusty section. Apparently could be easier to cut one out of another car rather than fabricate. So - what I need is the following (a bit hard to explain - will do my best): Passenger side. Base of front windscreen pillar. The dog-leg at bottom where windscreen pillar meets left hand front of engine bay. Essentially need to cut out the bottom of windscreen pillar - right up near where to passenger door hinge is. Can anyone accomodate this? Let me know. FYI - I re-used a picture from forums (hope that is ok) - circling the section I need. Just imagine that the door and front panel are removed - that is the section I am looking for! Cheers. Shan

I do not have a place to work on my car at the moment - so it needs to remain functional and on its wheels. So - I have been trying to collect the relevant strut bits together so I can send them to Ben for coilover conversion! So far members have been very kind, but all I have to date are front struts (lower). I still need front strut tops and need rear struts and strut tops also. So if anyone has the following for 260z 2+2 - I would appreciate it! Front Struts - Top Mount PLUS Rear Struts - Lower AND Top Mounts I can pay a little $$ OR if you are feeling generous - give me the bits and I will return them boomerang style when the matching bits are removed from my zed. Thanks guys.

e-go as oldmanZ indicated. They have delivered for me twice now. VERY cheap. Seem to be the most effective and cheapest that members have found so far.

Hi guys, I purchased the below from another zed enthusiast a while ago. He was racing his Zed and had upgraded to a larger setup - so picked this up pretty cheap. Contains the following: 240z - 260z Front and Rear Brake package Front Calipers - Toyota 4 pot, Front pads EDC yellow racing compound, Front ventilated discs from 280zx with custom spacer. Rear Calipers - R31 single pot slider with hand brake mechanism, Rear disc Skyline R31 rotors, rear pads Ferodo Excel pads. Stainless braided hoses were also provided. I have done some looking around into brake booster and master cylinder suggestions. So far (and correct me if I am wrong), most people seem to keep the standard 260z booster yeah? The brake upgrade under the bonnet generally appears to be the 280zx master cylinder OR Patrol 1"?? Which is this the best option for my proposed brake upgrade? My engine bay is being stripped right back for re-spray, so this is the perfect opportunity to make any changes you guys may suggest as worthwhile. Can you guys point me in the right direction here? FYI - my zed is a 77 2+2 and engine going in is a very mild fuel injected L28. Will eventually have a turbo installed though.

Hmmmm..... I just got that sinking feeling. My Zed has some blocked off and redirected heater pipes. Did not think much about it since I was doing a full restore anyway, but think I now know why pipes were re-directed. Will double check, but suspect I will shortly be posting for something similar.... Bugger.
