yeah i only have 2 or 3 grand to spend, so working out which steps to skip. any rough ideas on break up costs? so how much just for blast to bare metal? and how much for bare metal respray compared to just a normal respray?

okay so bought this a few months back, was looking for a dato 1200 ute for my first car, but ended up with this so cant complain has a straight and reasonably healthy body so wish to do it up slowly while using as a casual driver, -

heres how the dash was once i took it out, 4 or 5 major cracks, some as wide as your thumb. -

heres the dash after a quick sand and cracks filled with body filler. Worked better then i was expecting -
ok so im not exactly an expert on cars or anywhere nere it, but i love my 260z even though i hardly get to drive it anyway im just curious on what options are available and whats involved in repainting my z? i want to get the job done properly so remove all rust by sandblast or what ever method first then paint, i aslo want to have the engine bay done at the same time, does this make things more difficult? anyway the car is currently a daily driver with straight body and only minor rust.

just for future reference, i decided to get the rubbers and seals thro black dragon auto in the US as they work out at $600 AUD which is still cheaper then the domestic suppliers.

is the 240 dash different then a 75 260 2+2 z?

pm sent to Jp. id have mine reskinned but im in hobart and cant find anywhere locally that is worth it for the price, its cheaper to buy a new one. ridiculous really.

yeah im pretty annoyed, was about to get it painted and all tomorrow, however i dont want to waste my money if the gauges dont fit perfect anyway

hey im looking for a complete new dash, tried to restore my original one :-\ which had huge cracks, and thought all was going well...........until i just tested putting the gauges back in, the wholes thing has changed shape slightly and leaves gaps between the gauges and dash. so thought it be easier to get a new one.

thanks, they seem to have everything i want except the chrome front windscreen lock bit whichruns around the rubber but i can get that seperatly here in aus i guess

hey im slowly restoring my 260 2+2 and was wondering if people knew of any sources that supplied rubbers and seals for windows and doors, pretty much all mine need replacing. i have found rarespares.net and www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au, however a full kit costs over $700, is there any better options? cheers tom

o sorry, im in hobart tasmania. i asked a couple of the main spare part places around and they can only supple dish tops, so still lokking for standard flat tops

hey im looking for some L24 flat top pistons (83mm?) to replace the current ones in my L26.

looking for some sort of kit for the 260. only being used for casual driving so no need for carbon fibre. any ideas? stores? im located in tassie which aslso makes things a tad harder cheers
