If oil pressure should suddenly drop because of hard acceleration, severe cornering or hard braking, the air pressure immediately sends oil to the main galleries. When the danger is over and the pump is once again primed with oil, the oil pressure forces oil back into the Accumulator where it is ready for the next emergency. Moroso Oil Accumulators provide an instantaneous supply of oil when pressure falls below a safe level. About 8 years ago I literally chased the car these were on down Logan Rd and begged the owner to part with them...I kept at him for the next 6 months until he finally caved in...the transaction cost me lots of money and an AUTRONIC ECU, but i just had to have them. Since then they've sat untouched for years until recently when I started paint stripping them in preparation of a paint up.
