  1. Webasto made these vinyl sunroofs orginally (i think they came from England). they have a huge opening in the roof, but are a bit ugly when folded open. There must be people around who can repair them if you want to keep it. otherwise it sounds like its a roof replacement.... Lindsay at Z shop can advise you - he has the parts and skill to remove and replace your roof. Check these out for information http://www.webasto.com.au http://www.sunroofcentre.com.au
  2. i think he's around $100 an hour including the dyno.... but not sure. he does work for me up to an agreed maximum which works for me....
  3. hmm, it was a bit odd. And the Tuscan for all its uglyness sure can move quickly and frankly to blag it as they did, missed the point to me. It's a quirky low volume car with heaps of character. And both sounded great!
  4. count me in... David
  5. did you see this car on Top Gear last night? fantastic! M3 BMW under the skin....
  6. you could give tony at B+M fuel systems a call 03 9429 3510. I was there yesterday talking to him and saw a Wolf dealer poster on his wall. He said he wasn't a dealer now but has experience with them, and does a lot of Z work too (working on a 260Z racecar in there at the moment) He loves a chat so it couldn't hurt to ask.... David

  8. Off the post a bit, but this is my previous 260Z (just found a photo)... Love to know where it is now. I had it in early 90s - I was the second owner and I got it with an exercise book of owner notes and details of all work done since new, along with service history and purchase documents. Anyone seen it?
  9. Pete Praska's V8Z in the US looks pretty good to me.....
  10. interesting about the rust Evan, as mine was knocked back on rust in the rear hatch area...(!) certainly wasn't structural and about the size of a 0.02c piece. I'm interested in the "lack of control" issue with the police. If I turn the traction control off on the Calais (5.7L and open diff) it spins a wheel at will. In the wet with the V8 260 it spins the rears just looking at the throttle. So because the rear wheel is spinning, you're deemed to have no control?
  11. nope, not a typo, #1 cylinder is not firing...... BTW anyone know a GOOD auto electrician in the eastern suburbs?
  12. sounds like a lot of us actually.... Maybe we should have an update of where everybodies at...might share the pain and make Natez feel a bit better!!! Me? I've got a V7 260Z at the moment with no time, money of expertise to work on it. Needs serious valvetrain work on the left cylinder bank (and probably the right one too), a new cam, new inlet manifold etc etc. Also hasn't got a RWC yet so still on NSW plates. But it drives and even with the dodgey rockers, still hauls like a train - can't wait to get it right........ Anyone else want to add their .02c worth? David
  13. do you know what other parts are compatible - diffs, axles, etc etc?

  15. thanks for all the imput guys, I'm still thinking about how to do this. I'm curious about bolting the over shoulder strap to the rear bulkhead (above the tail lights or to the floor underneath) and running the strap thru an eyelet (using a B pillar mounting point from a retractable belt) bolted to the strut brace. is the rear bulkhead strong enough? Am i making this harder than I need to???

yes the nose has to go.... I don't like the look at all.
  18. the 4 point harnessess that came with my car are currently incorrectly mounted. the over the shoulder part of the belts go over the (dodgy)strut brace and then bolt to the floor behind. Legally they must be almost horizontal (+/- ten degrees) to the top of the seat to stop them from breaking the seat back in an accident. Soooo I would like to mount them on the strut tops but i think i might have to attach them to the strut brace to line up correctly. Anyone done this before? Any thoughts? - Are there strut braces out there with mounting points welded on? cheers David

  22. I had DBA cross drilled and slotted Gold discs on my WRX a few years ago and the braking difference was phenonemal. it'd stand on its nose!! I had Race Brakes in flemington fit their own brand pads and will do the same for the V8z shortly. Cracking issues with drilled discs are as a result of incorrect cooling procedures at track days - fast laps and no cool down, but on the road mine were fine. I had a price guestamate from Repco a week ago at around $200 a rotor but they wouldn't commit to a price as they said DBA would have to drill and slot them for me as there weren't any made for 260Zs
