  1. Hey Warren, I'm "nearly" ready to start rust proofing panels, etc and was wondering where you purchased the POR15 from. Cheers, Matt
  2. Hehe, I know what you all mean. I did the silly thing and drive mine around a bit before starting the rebuild. At the time I didn't hold the saying "you never miss what you don't know" in high regard, boy am I sorry that I didn't. I started the tear down back in January this year, and only being able to work one day a weekend (if I'm lucky), I'm still srtipping the panels back to bare metal. I've still got a long way to go before she's on the road, but I KNOW it will be worth the wait.
  3. hehe, what a cracker! I used to work for MelbIT, what dept. are you working in? If in development, say g'day to the ol' gang for me.
  4. Well, my 240 doesn't have side indicators, but might the 260? Cannot remember. The image is just one that I found to play with, if you can find a better picture, post it and i'll play adounr with it. I did find though, that photo styled images didn't look that good. Line art ones seem to match the text a lot better (in my opinon anyways )
  5. Another one to add to the mix. This is the long version of my square ones. Sorry about persisting with the same car, I just couldn't get the other car to look good. The photo-style image vs the simple lines of the text just wasn't sitting right with me. Will have to keep trying After creating this image, I noticed that on an all white background, the image doesn't quite look right. It probably needs a border or something. Another idea that I had (but haven't tried) is to make the background solid blue and having the car and text filled in white.
  6. What can I say, I'm old school and like the car as she was originally released. Sulio, if you can post the original graphic of that two tone z that you used, I'll incorporate it into my design and post for comments. Cheers, Matt
  7. Hey sulio, I have an idea using the same elements for a long sticker. Which of the four wordings that I posted did you like the best? I'll fix that one up to have heavier strokes and also make a long version using those words. Hey Gav, If you like, I can send you the illustrator version of the images. Cheers, Matt
  8. And here are the Z ones.
  9. Okay, got an image of the car and put it all together. Let me know what you think. I played around with the wording of the center circle as I wasn't sure what worked the best. I tried the 240Z/260Z instead of the S30/S130 as people would be able to more easily recognise the Z names rather than the body models (I know I have left out the ZX's, couldn't work out a nice way to fit it all in )
  10. I don't do much panel beating, etc (I leave that to my dad), but have you backed off all of the other bolts. You may need to just adjust the other bolts and it will make a better fit. Or maybe, take off all the bolts and start with the ones connecting the spoiler to the panels and then work your way in to the middle. Appologies if this idea is a bit noobish
  11. Here's my first crack at it. I've not used Illustrator before, but sort of starting to get the hang of it. It's not finished yet, am planning to put an outline drawing of a the car in the center of the circle, just have to find a good example to use. I also should get rid of the www., didn't notice that it is not on the banner (site not available issues again :? ) I'm planning this sticker out as about 8cm square. Similar in size to the ndsoc shield sticker.
  12. Hey Huw, What sort of price did they charge for the parts for the rear brake conversion? I've gotten prices ni the order of $1200 for everything, but that's from a place in QLD. Cheers, Matt
  13. Hehe, yeah, I was looking at your photo album earlier today. Haven't done much work on her lately, but stripping paint really takes it out of you.
  14. I bought it before I bought my car and gave it a bit of read. I stopped reading it till I actually get my rebuild to the same stage. The book is more focused on refreshing, as Gav has pointed out, rather than modifications. It has been helpful to find out how to disassemble things without breaking little clips, etc. I have posted a snippet from the book in the forums when someone needed to know how to dismantle the rear taillights. Some of the stuff is common sense stuff, but other things are gems that you will not find in other 240z manuals. At the end of the day, I feel that any reference material that you can turn to when you just cannot work something out is always a good thing.
  15. Oh, and I forget to mention that we should get them made in reverse style, so that you can stick them on the inside of the car rather than on the outside, if you get what I mean. The mind is not very clear this evening
  16. Any chance of getting the fonts used in the banners on the site or clean images of texts? Try to keep the designs of the site and media in sync with eachother. Also, if anyone is looking into designing stickers, think about doing one alla NDSOC's shield sticker. I'm not a big fan of putting stickers on my cars, but I wouldn't mind doing twin shields of NDSOC and vicZcar on the bottom of the tailgate window, if ya know what I mean.
  17. I have been pondering the same questions and came across this site a month or so ago. I haven't looked into it any more, but it might be right up your alley. http://www.datsunrestore.com/h4_bright_white_kit.html
