It has very light wear, the outer chrome trim has very minor blemishing, but otherwise in great shape as you can hopefully see from the photos. Comparing with another I sold recently here.

It would appear to have a slightly different grip, the previous 1 had more of a leather look, where as this has more of a rubber texture. Could be from a similar era Nissan Skyline or Bluebird?

Going to list this 1 at $150 neg due to great condition and rarity of these knobs.

Gav you still have this?

Sorry gone.

There was 1 on eBay US but it was in tatty shape and with currency conversion would cost more than this. If I find another I'll let you know.

Thanks.. If oz dollars is bad.. My ringgit is worst :~(

Btw anyone restored a gear knob before? My 240z gear knob top part is cracked. It is possible to change the plastic?

Hi locklock,

the 5-speed 240Z gear knob is as difficult, if not more difficult, to find than the 5-speed 260Z gear knob.

There are a few topics on this site about these knobs/shift-pattern buttons.

This one - http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/13728-wtb-240z-gear-knob-button/ is the most hopeful that I have found so far. One of the members, taylor, has made some reproductions of the shift-pattern button;

I made these 5 speed buttons with some degree of success , however all my moulds are in Australia and I'm now living in Vancouver. If I get back there this year I will make some more .

So one option seems to be to wait until taylor comes back to Australia, or Gavin said -

I can obtain OEM 5 speed gear knobs. Along with almost any other part. It is just the price.
Be prepared to pay $300+ for a 5 speed gear knob in NOS condition.

And there is also this copy - but its not as accurate as the copies that taylor can make -
