chris240 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 well I was going to get my existing wet-legs rebuilt , but finding the seal kit, & getting someone to do it proved to be too much for me... I toyed with the idea of getting some illuminas from the U.S but I couldnt bring myself to pay $240 for freight. Given Thredbo is in 3.5 weeks & Im busy every weekend leading upto it, I decided to get the boys at capital steering to chuck in some adjustable "Yellow" Konis , they called the zed guys at Toperformance in Melbourne who sent up the appropriate gear...(rears are Corolla part no.s).. Im also throwing in some new springs while were at it..should be ready this tuesday sorry Lurch, I did try to rebuild them Quote
C.A.R. Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I hope you kept the original wet inserts, Chris!!! Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 23, 2011 Moderators Posted January 23, 2011 Good choice with the yella's.. I have them in my zed and couldn't be happier. You wouldn't have the Corolla part numbers would you? curious as I used 300ZX inserts. Quote
Wayne G Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 if you don't mind sharing the information you have paid for, the part numbers would be handy. Quote
DatPilot Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 I have Koni's too, red though. Still very happy with them. The only problem I encountered is the nut that keeps the rod in the strut top is a funky thread pitch. Funnily its the same as the Nissan Wheel nuts! Quote
chris240 Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Lurchos, yeah yeah I'll keep them for you... Wayne I will post up the part nos the next day or so after I get them..all up for supply and install of the yellows (not incl springs) is $1144 (incl gst), like I said if the Yanks where a bit more realistic with their freight charges , I may have gone with the Tokicos, but nothing beats supporting a good local business. also I believe the Koni Reds are no longer made. chris240 Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 hmmm never a dull moment. I just picked up the zed, by some misfortune the guys accidentally installed lovells springs...the ride height hardly changed, anyway theve agreed to put in (at their labor cost) king springs like I asked for next week.. The ride with the yellow konis is magnificent, Im very happy with the adjustable yellows.. rears are 300zx part no 864--1060 SPT with a 70mm spacer and the fronts are toyota corrolas part no 8641-1146 SPT (forgot to ask if a spacer was used..)
