Hey guys new to the forum, but very keen to stay!

So I'm currently looking for an engine for my 72 240Z. I have about 1250 to spend but I'm having a hard time deciding what would be best to use.

So far I've been able to find (in my price range):

RB30E

RB20DE/ 20DE NEO

Want to know what other engines would be good to try and find. If you have an opinions or tips for me please feel free to tell me, I'm open for all suggestions.

Thanks

Any reason why you wouldn't consider an L24 - L28? You'd have a decent amount of change from $1250 for a LONG block.

Id just stick in a L28. Can be found for $500 if you look around.

Otherwise a 1jzgte/rb25det is cheap but will cost a substantial amount to get it setup and engineered.

I just dont know what they're like on fuel, if you could tell me this ill look around for them, which comes to the next part, where would be the best place to find one?

Ill look around for an L28 and see what I can find. Both of those that you suggested I've looked at and have not been able to find one close to me and in my price range.

A stockish manual L28 on 240 carbs in good condition should be getting around, 10l/100km.

As with any car, if you stick your boot into it expect this to increase.

The search function is your friend ;-)

In regards to sources, there are a few S130s on Gumtree at the moment that you could pick up for under your budget IMHO.
