PZG302 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Now I have the new shell to build, I need the room in the garage. The old shell has to go. Condition is crashed, the front left corner needs to be cut off and the front right will have to be checked. Both top and bottom radiator supports had to be cut to get motor out. Would be best used as a rear cut or to cut up for the various bits at the rear, ie quarters, roof, rear panel and floor. On the plus side the rear of the car is good, as is the roof and the rear floor from the step back. The shell also has a welded six point cage that I can testify works. If interested, best to have a look yourselves. The shell is in Brisbane and will be sold complete only - I won't be cutting it up. Open to sensible offers around $1500, as it has to go, so as long as it isn't a riduculous low ball offer it will most likely be yours. Have a look on some of the commercial wreckers for prices of rear quarters and roofs, plus this shell has a full cage, that with the log book is CAMS compliant More pictures available. PM me if interested, Matt Quote
PZG302 Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Shell now going up on ebay, grab a bargain as I need the room for the new toys..... Quote
DeWit Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 What years is the shell ? is it a pre 73? Quote
PZG302 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 The shell was a 70 shell, but now sold via ebay. Someone got a a bargain, went for the starting bid, worst luck...but well played by the purchaser, just how I would have done it Quote
J.B. Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Argh!!! Wished I saw this one.... I need that roof cut. I'm trying to hunt down the buyer to see if they are going to part-out the shell. Please PM me if you know the buyer. Quote
Patch Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I bought it, as I need the roof, so will decide when I get the car , may do a cut and shut with my front yet, will decide later. at this stage will keep it whole until I start work on it. I always buy on e-bay like that, don't show anybody you are interested and bid the last 30 secs. JB That link I gave you in Sydney for the other roof has been for sale along time, first time I was going to buy it it was $500.00 then he put it at $750.00 and now $900.00 Quote
Veloce Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I always buy on e-bay like that, don't show anybody you are interested and bid the last 30 secs. Yeah i hear ya, i don't understand why people start bidding days before the auction end... i usually wait until the last 5-10 seconds before the auction ends to bid and i'll put in the most i want to pay for it and 9 times out of 10 i get it for a lot less than what my bid is... it simply prevents getting into a bidding war with someone which drives up the price. Dingo Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 i was watching it. but i thought to get it to canberra might be too much. but i do have a front end i could have put in it. Quote
Patch Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Picked up car, Nice to meet you Matt, All I can say "what a great buy" has very little rust and some great body parts, as this car is a 1970 with no air vent in the sides and the wheels arches have been modified for wider tires, at the moment will probably only look at using the roof as mine is matching numbers 1971, I will leave whole at the moment until I start work on mine. Good parts would be 90% of floor, dog legs and rear quarters, would make a good cut and shut for making the 2+2 into a 2 seater Mustang shape. Quote
RB26DETT Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Interesting thing about the shell being a '70 model but still having the two tool compartments behind the seats. Do you guys know the chassis number on the firewall? Just trying to work out up to what chassis number that they only had the stamped holes in the floors rather then the tool compartments. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 26, 2013 Moderators Posted July 26, 2013 IIRC from around #480ish they started the tool boxes behind the seats. Quote
Patch Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Just from memory I think this car is in the 800's. Quote
RB26DETT Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Ok thanks guys, the #220 shell I have has the punched holes but the #900 something shell had tool lids Quote
