mikmarda Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Hi All, I've been driving my 'left for dead' 260 the last few days and it is a weapon. I love it. I have a few general questions that maybe could be answered. I have a few niggling questions - does anyone know if the 260z uni filter UL420 51 requires an element? Or can you put the foam only into the air box? Is this a recommended alternative to the paper? Car runs fairly poorly with the paper job... In other posts I have seen dudes saying that 87 deg C is the optimum thermostat opening temp... what brand is recommended and where? I am in Syd, soon to be in Melbs. Cheers, Mike M Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted December 30, 2012 Moderators Posted December 30, 2012 Not sure about airbox air filters; never had a zed with standard induction long enough to find out! With the thermostat, I'd go to Nissan and purchase one..about the same price as those crappy Tildon or Tridon or whatever they are.. Quote
mikmarda Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Cheers Dimitri! Yeah I have to save some more cashola before anything gets changed. Quote
Riceburner Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I used the Unifilter in my stock airbox for 2yrs with no issues, it has the same dimensions as the stock paper element. It's the patent Unifilter foam and it has a steel mesh frame it fits onto to retain the oval shape. Cost wise they were very close to a Nissan paper type but reuseable. There's also the K&N ones on eBay but they are expensive. Quote
