It makes the popo look at us all, a lot harder! Plenty of track sprint days in all states, to have a play. The program, avail for free download, called gearcalc, by peter ogden is very accurate. Forget your so called calibrated speedometers, which will be well out, just go on engine rpm, or what your rev limiter is set at on an aftermarket system, use gearcalc, sorry, you WILL need to know crucial data, rather than the old" "Ithink i gotta,,,,,," ! Six_Shooter Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Yeah I went with Autometers and use a GPS speedo. Its great and accurate - excpet for tunnels Which is one of the major reasons I will always stick with a conventional (vehicle driven) speedo. Quote
dat240z Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 Which is one of the major reasons I will always stick with a conventional (vehicle driven) speedo. Yeah, I considered that, but as im in the ACT, our longest tunnel is about 300 meters, and plus it was the only time i was going to see my z with 00000kms!!! brand new Quote
Johnboy Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 And what speed do the boy get up to in Tas From memory I was overtaken when doing around about the 120 mark, i wasnt game to go to crazy after blowing the head gasket two days earlier. Johnboy Quote
dat2kman Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Oh, At Targa High Country tarmac rally in 2010, Running a5.146 diff, 606mm diam tyres, 0.85 fifth gear, at approx 9000 rpm, We had a speed reading of 212 kmh. Roads closed for event, no long straights lot of tight twisty stuff. With 5.1 diff it had excellent corner exit capability. It wasnt a Z, but a Datsun 120Y Was not designed to do 212 k's but, when new! Quote
