Am thinking of buying a brand new triples for my l28 was looking on weber Aus and there is 200 buck difference between these two carbs. I look at the kits they supply all come with the 152s however I hear that the 9s are better for older motors......... can anyone shed some light? I know there are more progression holes so easier to tune but is there any other benefit of the 9s if I can save $600 and go the newer design 152s

I can't comment on the differences between the 9's and 152's but I have just fitted a set of triple 45mm 152's to my L28 and have been impressed with everything except the redline manifold and linkages that were supplied with them. If you can go for an alternative I would recommend it.    The carbys themselves though, couldnt be happier.

its all about the engine and what it needs to have a good progression  , so has it got big ports and cam or is it stock .

and get a jap manifold and kit so much better fit

Unfortunatley I'm not starting from scratch........it already has triples however 2 are a pair the other is a ring in that has apparently had the progression holes drilled so it is difficult to get the right tune. I bought it with the redline set up already but have heard jap manifolds flow better etc. Peter it has a decent cam not sure of the specs off the top of my head and the n42 was shaved fairly wildly. Also has been port matched and all that hoo haa......are you saying go for mikunis?

Well id go for the Weber 9 if your getting Weber's . if i was driving it on the street id have solex carbs as there much better in the progressions part of the carb , there is very little in the hp part , i have a soft spot for the solex  ,
