Sooley Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Hi All I am rarely one to complain about bad service as I usually seem to get pretty good service in the car industry but I have to warn people of Nengun.com They are a Japanese performance parts business who prides themselves on supplying Jap parts at cheap prices but I would warn anyone considering dealing with them not to. Over 2 months ago I order a very expensive item from them which arrived today and ended up being the wrong part. Originally I emailed them as I could not find the part that I required and received an email from someone who gave me a link to the item on their web site. I clicked on the link and there was a vague description of the item and a photo that looked exactly like what I was after. I placed an order trusting that I was being led in the right direction and was told I would receive it within 21 days at the latest. Today I received the part and it wasn?t what I ordered, so I emailed them and they basically told me off saying it was my fault and that it?s now my problem. I have never come across such bad service, especially from an internet based business that should look after their clientele more so as they don?t have face to face contact with there clients. Anyway, be aware that these guys aren?t into providing service at their cheap price. I guess the old analogy stands; you pay for what you get. Quote
sco_aus Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Thats shit, do you still have the original message you sent them? I had a similar incident with Dan from modyourcar.com.au where he went off at me, so i sent him the original message and remained polite and he realised he stuffed up and gave me a big discount and a really big apology. Not saying these guys will, but in order to get you rmoney back or the right part, it might be worth trying. Quote
dave_hl Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 are they based in melbourne??? we could all go pay them a visit. Quote

Hi Sooley, while I understand your frustration perhaps it may pay to give them another go to get it right. I'm sure they understand the value of having a good reputation and discussion forums such as this can have a huge negative impact through experiences such as this that are posted in the open for all to read. I'd suggest contacting them to explain the situation, perhaps mention that you should have also confirmed that this would have been the correct item over phone because order (since their description was vague). This is good feedback for them to be more specific about their part information on their website. Maybe try coming to a compromise, I'm sure they can come up with something. Then again I don't have all the details. If they know what's good for business they know they must look after you, even if it means a loss for them. Give them another go and let us know how you go. Sooley Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 I had many emails going back and forth and I even sent them the copies of the emails that they sent me showing them where they even referred the link to me for what I was asking for and they are stil saying tuff luck, it was my fault. Even the photo in the link was what I ordered and still, the wrong item was sent. They basically fobbed me off and said tuff luck, so I really have no desire to deal with them ever again. Since this I have heard quite a number of people have had the same problem, lack of service and an apathetic attitude to client complaints. Quote
sco_aus Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Well thanks heaps for the heads up. Maybe just saved me a lot of pain. Sound like a bunch of tools. Actually no, tools are usefull!! Quote
George Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 sorry to hear it their t&c INTERNATIONAL ORDERS All foreign orders are final, no returns will be accepted; therefore it is the buyers responsibility to order the correct part. Nengun Performance? does not guarantee proper fitment for buyers foreign vehicles as all parts sold by Nengun Performance? are made for the Japanese domestic market. Quote
sco_aus Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Im gonna warn few others around, so you may have just saved a few people too. Thanks mate, sorry to hear how it turned out though. Quote

Thanks mate, sorry to hear how it turned out though. i don't see the point in that. honestly, one guy has a bad experience and he bitches about it all over the place while thousands of others have a good experience and do not voice that. it's a rule of life. he wanted it cheap and often with a good deal comes some risk. this time it didn't work out. take it on the chin and move on. you can bad mouth them all over the place but you won't achieve anything in the grand scheme of things. sco_aus Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 As it would turn out, I had a look around and have heard only a couple of good things vs a lot of bad things, so there isnt any need to tell others. If only Sooley had been told. Not to mention there are plenty of places with a better rep and similar prices, so bugger em. Quote

I know for sure that I am not the only one who's a bad experience from them. The point that gets me annoyed is that I clearly asked for help with sourcing a part, they gave me help, which was wrong and now they won't take responsibility for their mistake. I even emailed the link to them that they sent me and they basically told me to bugger off. I don't want anyone else getting caught with bad service from these guys that is why I am voicing my opinion and if I can cost them in sales what they have now cost me with a part that I WILL make a loss on by on selling it then I think that is a fair deal.
