hash76 Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 I did a quick search for what fuel one should use for the L26 engine and the best I could find was this: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2443.msg19363/topicseen.html#msg19363 which wasn't too helpful and some stuff about using ethanol fuel. I was wondering which octane people here would recommend using, as I use 98 but have been told that it may be too 'rich'. Also what is the importance of using lead additive? Thanks Quote
260Coupe Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 If your L26 runs the stock 8.3:1 comp then it will run on 91 RON unleaded...........the issue is valve seat recession caused by the lack of lead so use a lead replacement additive in the fuel. Or refress the engine and install stainless valve seats so you can run without the lead replacement additive. You may find slight performance increases using 95 RON but only a dyno run will prove this Al. Quote
