Jz260 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Hey guys, I have a 1976 260 2+2 and I'm firstly wondering if the diff is an r200 or r180? By the looks of it most of the Z's have r200's? So I have found that Quafie make an R200 replacement helical LSD, meaning it wont completely lock.. I'm sure you guys know the low down on this stuff. Anyway, would this be a good way to go if i can get it at a good price? they seem to go for $1300 ish brand new. I'd probs be aiming for a better price than that.. but anyway, here is a link to the Quafie page on it. Let me know what you guys think! http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qdf7l Thanks! dat2kman Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Nissan original clutch pack lsd is adjustable, smoother, but can wear, Quaife is all mechanical, can be noisy, can almost act like a setriot locker, does not offer proggression. Not that good in a competition scenario. Also more expensive If interested i have a r200 Nissan clutch pack limo complete for sale Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 get the quaif, some of the best diffs ever built. you will need to remove diff to ensure you have everything correct before splashing cash. 260z r200's have 10mm crownwheel bolts (provided it IS a 260z diff) have 29 spline output gears / side gears. but check check and check again before splashing cash, nat0 Quote
