Stretching tyres without (potentially) blowing yourself up

Don't know if this is common knowledge or a repost but I learned something from it.

From me personally? No, I haven't seen your latest update. Does it, uhh..... involve involuntary eyebrow removal by any chance?  ;D

Hahah, I didn't mean to infer anything! Just came at the right time for someone to get angry about my method of stretching! :P

Fortunately no eyebrows were harmed in the making of the video!

I know I will give it a go on my Bobcat tires, as some are hard for me to get up and normally have to put a chain in the middle of the tire to pull the sides out to seal, mind you the flame looks easier, but I history is not good with fire.

Bobcat, yeah!

I use a 2500 kg 2" ratchet steap around the tread, yep, squeeze it in, beads seat, and presto! But after so many slow leaks and popping tyres off beads(no beadlock on skidsteer rims! ) i now use 4x4 16" inner tubes.

Just wondering, is this possibly an indirect response to my latest build thread update?  :o

I think you made it look easier than they did.

I was impressed.

Thanks!  :D

It's actually not too hard, position the tyre in the middle of the rim with an equal amount of distance between the wall of the tyre and the bead on each side (I used short bricks under the tyre). Spray in a little starter fluid and leave a trail along the tyre wall, light it and stomp on it to suck the flame inside and it'll blow on!

I only stretched a 225/50-15 onto a 10 inch rim so not crazy stretch, but I've known this to work up to 195/50's on 10's as well!
