R200 ratio change and tuning

Hi all,

 

quick question. Running a stock engine (L26) with 240z hitachis; Its a 5sp manual.

 

now if you change diff ratio (currently 3.54 - ) to 4.11, and nothing else, would the carbies need a retune?

In a word, no 

 

As you aren't playing with anything that affects the tune, you won't need to retune the carbies.

sounded like a stupid question i know, but then i thought about the possibility of shorter gearing possibly helping a low rpm flat spots;

You have the wrong ratio anyway for a manual zed; should be a 3.7. But flatspot will still be there - check the plug colour and that will be a good starting point.

Lads, I can solve your "flat"spot issues.

It's called standard gear ratios, and they are  for regular daily driving duty, not performance!

It will cost though!
