Scando Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Does anybody know of any thick head gaskets to fit an L28 that will handle a bit of boost? I've heard of a 2mm metal gasket for them before. Does anybody know who makes these? I can get a 1mm graphite one but the head has had a very small amount taken off it to get it flat and I think the compression will be too high with the 1mm gasket. nat0_240_chevZ Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 i suppose i could get one made..... copper or such, but not cheap! if you went the path of a full metal gasket could also do Ally, stainless. will need an old gasket to stencil, unless you can source a dxf/dwg or dwg similar. also the exact dia of your bores as generic gaskets are generally oversize slightly which hurts comp and leavs small hotspots on that sharp edge. check out hks, a fellow at work tells me 4 weeks and you can have what you want!!!! if all else fails give us a holler. nato Quote

Stuart Wilkins head gaskets a re reuseable, hence the price for the engineering involved to make them so. You have to get the gasket, head and block surfaces spotless and then use the mylar, I hope that's right, goo to seal it all up. Quote
