zzzzed Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 my every day bucket 1994 toyota camry has developed a problem. When it is cold it runs perfectly. but as soon as it warms up It misfires and has a flat spot?? I have replaced the plug, leads and cap. It has been compression tested and has 170 psi on every pot. Can some one give me some ideas on what else it could be Quote
zzzzed Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 yeh It did stop running all together so i put a second hand pump in it now its running again but still has the misfire problem.. i also put a new fuel filter on it and pack flushed the fuel line with compressed air Quote
zzzzed Posted September 28, 2011 Author Posted September 28, 2011 perhaps i should have got a new pump but i didnt want to fork out $80 if it was not the problem as i am selling it Quote
bullzed Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I have a 91 Lancer and it did the same thing. Fixed it by disconnecting the throttle position sensor. But it could be the inlet temperature sensor. Unfortunately modern cars have sensors for sensors. Give me an old car any day. Quote
peter mc Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 if its not fuel pump it the coil they are built into the dissy and they have problems from time to time you can get the hole dissy at the wreckers cheep Quote
Wayne G Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 coil inside distributor. Try strip and wipe clean as a patch or back to wrecker Quote
