Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 30, 2011 Moderators Posted August 30, 2011 With an auto diff in a manual car, highway driving is great but acceleration suffers. Auto diffs are 3.5:1 whereas manual diffs are 3.7:1 If you are happy with the way it drives, you can leave it but if you plan on doing any track work, I'd change it. Quote
luvemfast Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 However is there any point in changing it Yes. You will notice a big difference in performance by doing the diff swap, I have a 4.375 in mine. Quote
Luni260z Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 My first z was a manual with manual diff. It hauled ass. Didn't go too fast but it got there pretty damn quickly. Now have an auto just like yours. Swapped the gearbox. Feels like a turd. It goes when it eventually gets up to speed. As soon as I'm cashed up I'm searching for a diff to replace it. Quote
