G,day,      Is anyone else having problems with Ebay when opening up a site.  Over the last week it has been very very slow.  I have cleared out recent history ect,  but still has not made any difference.  Just wondering????

I've had no issues at all, even my ebay phone App is fine.

Try using mozilla firefox etc.. i've had similar problems with other sites when using internet explorer but now fine on Firefox.

Maybe your antivirus or pop-up blocker is slowing it down?

Thanks for that.    I am using Mozilla Firefox & it only started playing up maybe a week ago. Also a computer dummy when it comes to the tech stuff...Jim

i had no issue either and im using google chrome(it likes using ALOT of memory). OPERA was great for speed i found. IE is just a joke and mozilla is the best overall. I used to have a few issues with the newest version of mozilla though, maybe thats why?

GEEZE Maygz,    You might be right!!!  There have been quite a few on the side of the road lately  none of em moving much,  any one of em could have been the Telstra Carrier ::) ::)

Thanks Perrin,    I have Mozilla 6, do you know if I can reinstall an earlier version of Mozilla ( 5 or 4) to see if that helps.  Thanks  Jim

i think i had issues with 6.7 or something. but im unsure if you can backtrack with versions....you might have to download a good safe version and uninstall it? thats one option, maybe could call your isp, they might have dropped for a few days....ours drops out a bit on wifi!

Good luck with finding a solution to this one (not intended to be sarcastic)

I had this problem some time ago, and I worked out that my computers software was definitely the cause, as it worked perfectly on the two laptops I have access to.  The ONLY site that went slow was Ebay, and it was excruciatingly so - 10 minutes sometimes just to load the next page of search results.  Yet I could browse any other website at normal speed at the same time (and did while waiting), and even access Ebay at normal speed from the laptop while my desktop was still thinking about it...  At the time Firefox was at about version 3.4, and I had the same version on both the problem computer and one of the working laptops  ???.  Pretty sure I tried reinstalling Firefox anyway, but it didn't work.

You've now got me racking my brains to try and remember whether I actually ever solved it, since that time I've reinstalled the whole operating system anyway (for other reasons) and it now works fine.  If I remember anything, I'll let you know...  At the time I couldn't even find any posts on the net from anyone who'd had the same problem.

Thanks for your replies Boys.

I installed an earlier version Mozilla 4 & nearly stuffed the lot. Could not open any web sites, but could receive email. Reinstalled Mozilla 6 & it now works again but Ebay still slow...Jim
