Stivva
Was it painted black or was it finished in a polished metal cover? I have seen a few that had the lids finished in a polished metal finish, but others in black.

benny
I think 240 was polished/chrome and 260 was the black stippled finish??

benny
in my 240 it was actually plated, not sure if its factory or not??
Tj
My 1977 260Z definitely has a rough black finish. Interestingly I've seen a 2000 sports recently that had a polished lid on its ashtray, not sure what year it was however.
zzzzed
You could put a 1982 corrlla ashtray in it and be uber cool
salty
the original ashtray cover had a "leather grain" look and was black, it also had a hole with chrome edging, for the ciragrette lighter. this was directly below the radio and forward from the gear stick and it had the fuse box underneath it. I think later models had the ash tray in the console which had a metal cover/finish.
