Drewby 260 Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Hey, I just need to know if the standard diff in my 1977 260Z is a R200? If so i can get an LSD out of an old R30 i think it was, for cheap, that should bolt straight in which will be sweet. let me know, thanx Quote
sco_aus Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 It should be as mine was, but previous owners do weird things (i had 240z rear suspension on my 260. http://www.viczcar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=299 This helped a lot and have since learnt a lot about these diffs. I have R33 Cusco 2 way LSD centre (aftermarket), so it goes to show you can do a lot of different things with these diffs. Quote
620Z Posted March 4, 2007 Posted March 4, 2007 Probably not. R200 LSD's are hard to come by these days and cost over $1,100-. I just got one at that price and spent $400- doing up the internals. So more than likely it would be a standard open diff. You might have struck it lucky but most likely not. Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 yes your stock diff "SHOULD" be an r200 open. Nore should as said above the previous owners can do strange things. iva also put an r32 tomei 2way lsd into a stock 260z r200 with 3.54 gears to suit the v8 moreso but. the dr30 doff is a good swap but make certain it is an lsd before buying. pop the back cover off and aslong as you know what your looking at you should be ok, but the condition of the internals is a lil harder to check. nato Quote
