Hey, I just need to know if the standard diff in my 1977 260Z is a R200? If so i can get an LSD out of an old R30 i think it was, for cheap, that should bolt straight in which will be sweet. let me know, thanx

Hey evry1, Howzit goin. I bin inlove wiv 240's eva since Grand Turismo 2 came out, it was always my favourite car and it had the best sound! i hav also oredy had 2 120Y's an N10 pulsar and a 2.0L N14 Q so i love my nissan's but more specifically datsuns. Upon Looking a bit more into the Z's i actually prefer the 260's coz of the 2+2 option and i just prefer the slightly different look. So i started searching for a nice one, i looked for a few weeks but didnt find much until about 6 weeks ago i found a white 260Z 2+2 in fair nick, the body is straight, it duz hav some rust which is one of my 1st priorities. I have just done a major service & sussed out sum of the rust & i will now do the tappets and then a tune to perfection, sum nice 215/60/14's and i will rego it and start driving, i get my licence back on the 14th so i hope to get it done before then. I will get some pics & more details up soon. My plans include all the rust totally removed and the body/paint brought back to mint condition (will cost plenty $$$ tho) and then a few things redone in the interior, a sound system (love my music) and eventually an RB25DET with custom front mount, 3" mandrel bent exhaust through hi flo stainless cat & nice sports muffler (should be pushing 200kw atf) and R32 GST-T front brakes, R31/R30 mechanical LSD, full Konig suspension all round bout 1.5" lower at the back & 1" at the front. I think i will keep it white and it has the original mags which i'll keep so yeh, if anyone wants to say hi, im looking for others in sydney area, have a good one guys

yeh, i think im just guna go with the stock rb25det coz by the time i put it in with custom intercooler and exhaust it will be pushing 200kw at the fly anyway and in a car that ways just over 1100kg dats heaps 2 start off wiv especially coz bein a basically stock engine it will still be reliable. and lata i can just throw a chip, wind up boost & etc & go up to 250+ on stock internals plus its a non turbo rb30 bottom end i got so if i run boost through it i will prolly end up with pistons evrywhere in 6 months

hey man, sounds like a mad ride, i am currently deciding what engine to put in my '77 260Z 2+2. i was looking at an RB25DET which i will most likely do but i also hav an old VL out the back and i was wondering if i can throw the RB30 block/bottom end on it and use all the rest of the RB25 gear (head,turbo etc) does anyone know if it is possible to throw the 3.0L bottom end on the RB25DET without to many probs and wheather it is worth it?
