Hi all,

so i have a two part question to anyone that may have this information and be able to help.

I am currently interviewing engineers to see who will be more "agreeable" to certify the car in its present condition. The big issue i am having is with the size of my wheels. I know i could just put a stock set of wheels on and change them back but i would really like to have it engineered the way i want the car. The first question is simple. Does anyone know the standard wheel track for a 240z ?? Its not in either of my books and a google search has turned up minimal.

I need to supply the engineer with 2 x things to get my car passed in its present state.

Standard wheel track, front 1353mm and rear 1346mm. Can anyone confirm this ??

Standard wheel size, front and rear. 14x4.5 ?

my engineer has assured me that the only reason i cant have big wheels is because the diff is not built to handle it...

Its a good thing i put that longnose R200 LSD in, with HSV CV shafts. Now i can widen the wheel track to the width of  any car that came out with a longnose R200.

I need to provide him with the details of my selected car, wheel sizes and wheel track etc.

I'm hoping an 300zx runs an R200 diff, of some sort ?? The 300 zx would be a perfect fit, if it runs an R200 ?? i dont think it does, but I'm hoping

So does anyone know of any cars that came out with an longnose R200 with a wide wheel track and large wheels from factory ??

Thanks in advance to all that can help shed some light on this. i hope that if i can figure it out i have found a loophole for It to work for all that want to legally put large wheels on there post 1973 cars.

The Z31 model 300ZX came out with a R200..the turbo version came with the LSD. As for the track width, according to the workshop manual, without load it is 1344.5 mm. Hope that helps..

Hey mate, the info I have from when mine was engineered has the standard wheels at 14" x 4.5".

Front track 1335

Rear track 1350

Doesn't seem right to me (I thought the front track was wider than the rear from factory) but that's what the Department of Transport had on their records.

What about the R31 GTS-R's?  They had a long nose R200 but I'm not sure on the wheel sizes?
