Best coil for 280Z electronic

Hi all

Anyone have any suggestions on a good coil to use on a 280 electronic ignition, just after the best spark I can get.

I have been recommended a Bosch MEC723A any feedback ??

 

Motor has a A grade grind (so Ive been told)

 

I have the original black bottle coil, and have no problem with it but looking to improve it if possible.

 

Also if I do change to something with a bit more kick, would I open up the plug gap a bit ??

 

Sorry, silly questions, but thought I would approach the guys who have been through all of this before..

Ive used a coil from a Nissan Pulsar (N13?) the Reebok model? That worked real well

Hey Dimitri,

I've decided to finally fit that electronic dizzy from the engine swap. I noticed you had already wired it for me ready to fit, but I guess I have the same question as Pacey - should I swap my coil for Reebok/Bosch or should the existing one be fine? I can't actually figure out which coil I have as the sticker has rubbed off !!

If in doubt, throw it out! Best all round one to use would be a 280ZX unit, but make sure you grab the bracket with  it as it is a tad larger than a standard coil. Or if you can find the Pulsar one, whatever is easiest!
