tir33d Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Woo - hoo recorded my first ever 1st OUTRIGHT today. We had a small field of approx 40 cars and great weather today. The vid below shows me racing a mate in a Evo looks bad till the end, he is the sort of bloke that will try to cut up the inside at any chance so it was nice to return the favour. In the end my last run was the fastest for the day 46.8 sec and trust me when I say I was stoked. Quote
260DET Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Well done, can't do much better than win. Looking forward to seeing this at LapZ at the Lake, you should go well there. Quote
RB30X Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Nice work champ. Engine sounds great and she seems to handle well. Giving her a bootfull onto the straight looks fun. Go the LSZ brigade. Quote
luvemfast Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Nice work Always nice to not only keep up, but stick it the more modern cars Quote
tir33d Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 That little evo in the vid actually comes with a trophy under the seat, apparently last year it took out the title at Autosalon with 510hp at all wheels, that was running at 30psi and using c16. the tune at Bathurst supposedly gives him 300hp atw. The funny thing is that its his brothers car, and his brother has never really driven it in anger. He was running on poxy 19' achilles tyres which was the chink in his amour, he had to brake even before I wanted to and he wears a massive set of brakes. We do this run again at the end of November and by then I will have bigger brakes and better flowing heads. The tin top record is 45.06, its still a bit away but I think I might get close. The current record is held by Stuart Inwood in his 4WD Skyline with a rumoured $70k motor. Would luv t0 scare him. Its been great up here, I think they have mentioned it on every radio station and local TV news "local boy in his 280 chev powered datsun" Quote
